Resume Format Help!

Recommended Posts

I have looked all over for a resume format specifically geared towards CASPA/PA application.  I haven't had any luck.  If anyone has any suggestions that will specifically show me how I need to write my resume or examples for applying to PA schools, please share this with me.  Also, is there a specific font size to use?  I have heard one page is best.  I have everything else done but this and I am worried it won't be done right.  Thank you!!

For PA programs, it's always best to put your education up at the top and then your work experiences (pce) and then volunteer etc. People have said that you don't need descriptions and to keep it concise, however, there really isn't another place on your app that you can go in further detail on your experiences. I recommend using descriptions. Also, stick to one page and normal margins. It's obvious when you try to squeeze in stuff and end up making the font too small. It's hard to read and look crowded.  Education, Experiences/Patient Care Experience, Volunteer, Skills are good headlines to keep in mind. Don't include "relevant courses" taken in college, that's on your transcript already and it just takes up valuable space on your resume. Hope this helps.
