jwells78
Just because I am newer to Trauma/Crit care (for my own edification as well as others), any ICU/Crit care guys out there want to expound on what their shops are using for symptomatic/ severe HypoNa? Was listening to Emcrit and the DDAVP clamp came up, not sure how others (if others) are using that technique, or simply fluid restricting/ hypertonic, ect.. Floor is open. UGoLong
Not in critical care but we like tolvaptan. It's an aquaretic -- pee water and leave the sodium behind. Obviously not for hypovolemic hyponatremia.
MikeyBoy
I am in the reactive DDAVP camp. Mainly due to our diligent interns/students to keep on top of the q2h whole blood Na's coming in fast. Great topic, here's the link to the blog for others; https://emcrit.org/pulmcrit/taking-control-of-severe-hyponatremia-with-ddavp/
