Transcripts/Refereces arrive CASPA office before I submit the application

Recommended Posts

I can't be sure, but perhaps what Calsab is asking is whether LORs and transcripts can be sent to CASPA before the portal officially opens for the next app cycle. In other words, can an applicant have all his paperwork (LORs, transcripts etc.) in CASPA's hands ahead of time so that the verification process can begin on Day 1 of the cycle; or will CASPA only accept these documents after the portal has opened?

The application season needs to be open before you can ask for transcripts. At that point, you can start an application, which generates a unique number. This number references your file, and when you print out a transcript request form, it contains that number as well as a designator for WHICH school, relative to your application, is intended. Thus, the sequence goes like this: start application, enter all school info, print transcript request forms, mail forms to schools with payment, schools send transcript plus form to CASPA, CASPA attaches those transcripts to your file. Then, at some point when you are done, you submit and pay, and THEN CASPA starts working to evaluate your transcripts. They won't send anything until all transcripts and 2 LORs are present, though, so it's to your advantage to get your transcripts in as soon as possible in the process.
