Are you talking about hand-writing your essay? No, no. Type it, unless they specifically tell you to pen it. Nobody in the admissions office has time to decipher your handwriting. Some schools will have you do a writing sample at the interview, but you want your essay to be polished and clear, not covered in cross-outs and erasure marks. Even if you have the most gorgeous penmanship in the world, odds are you're going to screw up a few times in a 1000 word essay (or whatever the length is).
