whoRyou
What are some quick references you would recommend for a PA, or as PA-S or Pre-PA? I will be starting my clinicals this week for my HCE as a NA and they suggested stethscope and a blood pressure cuff. I know it has been said ad nauseum Maxwell for PA-S, but I was wondering if anyone else can suggest anything else for myself (although I am sure that is all I will need as a NA.) as well as for others. Diggy
I got nothing for references... but I do have some tips. I always carried a notepad that can fit in my scrub pockets. Very handful tool for reminding me which pt(s) need achs/blood sugar Q6H, telemetry vitals, UA/stool collection, or what needs to be done when a pt is getting d/c or admitted before the RN sees the pt....especially when you're responsible for 10-13 pts/shift. I never used my own stethoscope (Littmann card II classic) as a NA, but have been using it a lot since I became an MA...oscillatory BP machines do not like HTN pts lol. Good luck, working as a NA is an eye opening experience.
