Should I retake the gre because of my writing score? I read previous gre posts that most of schools do not emphasize on writing section. jbird Posted August 6, 2014 Share Posted August 6, 2014 Do any of the schools you are interested in require a minimum score on the writing section? If not, I would ask the schools directly and see what they say. I was in the same situation last year and multiple programs told me my scores were competitive and not to worry about it.
