Guest JMPA
Update Dear Fellow New York PA, NYSSPA is very happy to report that the concerning legislation introduced in NYS ( S.7582(LaValle)/A.10077 (Lavine)) that would allow graduates of foreign schools deemed to be equivalent to PA schools to practice as PAs without graudating from an accredited PA program or passing the PANCE has not made it out of the committee and therefore has failed. Due to the actions of our members, colleagues, government affairs team, our lobbyist and the support of the AAPA's government affairs team, we achieved our goal and the bills did not come out of the committee. Thank you for contacting: Senator Ken LaValle, Assemblyman Charles Lavine, Assemblywoman Debra Glick, and your legislator. Please make sure your membership in NYSSPA and the AAPA are current so both organizations remain strong and ready to act on your behalf in the future. Thank you, Maureen Regan, MBA, PA-C President New York State Society of Physician Assistants Dan Forsberg, PA-C, MPH President-Elect New York State Society of Physician Assistants David Jackson, DHSc, PA-C, DFAAPAGovernmental Affairs Chair New York State Society of Physician Assistants Michelle Colletti, PA-C Membership Chair New York State Society of Physician Assistants
