Guest Paula
Just wanted to share info from the WAPA regarding legislation to restrict PA-owned businesses in WA state, in case PAs don’t receive the WAPA emails: April 10, 2014 Dear Washington PA Colleagues: As some of you are aware, the PA Rules Advisory Committee is considering several rule changes. The Washington Academy of Physician Assistants (WAPA) has been present at the meetings and is actively participating in the discussions to ensure our voice is heard on each proposed change. Many positive recommendations have come from the discussions. However, during these discussions, new ideas about limiting PA ownership of clinics and businesses have been suggested. If you are a PA business owner we need to hear from you! We need PAs that are business owners to attend the next committee meeting on May 8th to discuss the benefits of PA owned clinics, especially in places where physicians do not want to practice. The meeting will be held at 12:30 p.m. on May 8, 2014, at the DOH campus in Tumwater, WA. If you are a PA business owner and are able to attend this important meeting, please contact WAPA! Email: LMK@WSMA.org, Fax: 206-441-5863, direct line: 206-956-3624. Sincerely, The Washington Academy of Physician Assistants President - Leanne Brink, PA-C President-Elect - Mike Urakawa, PA-C Immediate Past-President - Louis Koncz, PA-C Secretary - Sue Cole, PA-C Treasurer - Connie Daruthayan, PA-C
