MCHAD
Hey Everybody, I am rotating at a free clinic at a battered/homeless womens shelter this month and was told to figure out something i wanted to do to improve the clinic...I decided that pamphlets/educational materials to give to the women would be a good thing to have and I am just looking for resources ya'll might know of for patient education (big stuff like depression, HTN, Diabetes, obesity, etc.) I know about the big ones like ADA, American Heart Association, etc. and i am using MD Consult, but I would love some input. Thanks in advance! MCHAD
eze8923
i always liked using familydoctor.org as reading material for patients. it's maintained and edited by AAFP, hits all the good topics, and has articles in spanish as well.
fyrelight74
Glaxosmithkline puts out some pretty nice booklets, when you can get them. You can see them at 1on1health.com . If you call GSK at 8888255249, they will send you some of whatever they made that month. (They have been out of cholesterol and triglyceride booklets for months, but DR always loves whenever we can get those, especially).
