I'm thinking about doing one because these courses -which typically run 8-12 weeks-( and can be done over several yrs at 2 weeks/yr) contain all the clinical info from an mph that I am actually interested in without the research and management bs. after completion of a course + 2 months overseas experience one can take the american society of tropical medicine exam to get a certificate of knowledge in tropical medicine and travelers health( CTropMed.) courses run around 5k + housing . several are stateside(hopkins, tulane, etc) and several are overseas(gorgas, etc). given my preference I would do an overseas course.
