jdumoch
I'm looking for a good cme course to review procedures common in emergency medicine i.e. intubation, chest tubes, central lines etc etc.. I found one that looked good http://www.hospitalprocedures.org but 1500 seems a bit pricey for 2 days. My CME allowance is 2k so with travel I'd be spending plenty out of pocket which I'd rather not do. Anyone have any good experiences here or elsewhere? Moderator EMEDPA Posted November 30, 2013 Moderator Share Posted November 30, 2013 looks like a great course but for 1400 bucks you could take atls(800 bucks) + the difficult airway course(350) + FCCS (250) and get all of the same material in greater depth and 3 certifications employers recognize.... jdumoch
i'm having trouble finding ATLS near me.. I'm in CT. It seems like the courses are fully booked by the time they open for registration...
Moderator EMEDPA Posted December 1, 2013 Moderator Share Posted December 1, 2013 you need to register 6+ mo in advance for atls. check on the national atls website course search for "courses which allow physician extenders". try this one. there is where medics25 from the forum works. jdumoch
hey so I'm on the website for the difficult airway course and it's saying 1300 dollars. am I in the wrong place?
Moderator EMEDPA Posted December 1, 2013 Moderator Share Posted December 1, 2013 take the difficult airway for ems course. 350 bucks and 99% of the course is exactly the same. the difference is 1 technique which you will never see outside of an academic med ctr anyway. http://www.theairwaysite.com/pages/page_content/Airway_Ems_More.aspx
