Wet Dog
I finally found a PA willing to let me shadow, although only for one day. He told me to get in touch with the coordinator for shadowing and they say I need to do a background check and drug test. I am just wondering if that is typical. Its not a problem as long as I can do the papers and test locally ( this hospital is two hours away). Latina PA
As you said……. "finally found a PA that is willing to let me shadow" If they say jump, just ask how high. Most pre-PAs I know have been looking for more than a year for a PA to shadow.
Wet Dog
Anyone? I still need to find someone else to shadow because I need 40 hours with one person. Sent from my VS840 4G using Tapatalk
SHU-CH
This scenario is very common. Since 9/11 and HIPAA medical facilites carefully scrutinize everyone that walks in the door. You will have to play along.
Wet Dog
Interesting. It just seemed strange to me since I've volunteered at two hospitals and never had to do either one. Its not a problem- I'm used to that sort of stuff after 9 years in the military. I just thought it was strange, especially for a half-day observation. SHU-CH
Frankly, some places probably make you jump through hoops to discourage you from showing up...
