AussieBen
Hi Everyone, There is a lot of interest about PAs in Australia and the word is that there will be PA jobs here very soon. If you are interested in working in Australia, you might want to have a look at this survey. The purpose is to get an idea of what the potential PA workforce will be when employment opportunities become available. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/829C7PC Also if you are interested in PAs down under, have a look at www.paced.com.au the premier PA site for Australia. GreatChecko
From the outside looking in, it seems that since the profession was introduced, things are pretty slow and that jobs aren't easy to find. Add the fact that the second program (U of Queensland?) shut down, the momentum seems to be moving in a negative direction. I assume you are a PA in Australia, what's your take on the situation? Is it just slow to start, as it was in the US, or is this poised to grow by leaps and bounds?
vhinz316
Workers in Australia can expect normal working hours to be around 35-40 hours per week. Holiday entitlement is around 4-6 weeks with optional 10 days paid leave for sickness and career breaks (very similar to UK Bank Holiday entitlements). Employers are required by law to pay 9% of gross pay into a retirement fund. Working in Australia
