Sterling684
I’m interested in hearing your opinions on New Zealand’s adoptionof the Physician Assistant role in medicine and the scope of practice in thelink below. I’m an aspiring PA who is definitely excited by the notionthat other countries are adopting PA’s into their health care model. However, Iam concerned with this statement “The PA role is a bit different from and complementary to existing rolesand other professional groups such as Nurse Practitioners, who are able to work more independently”. I hope that theseindividuals who are representing for all other PA’S shine a bright light on theimportance of the profession. http://healthworkforce.govt.nz/new-roles-and-scopes/physician-assistant/frequently-asked-questions
MediMike
If their setup is like here in the states then perhaps NPs are able to work independently. If that is so then I don't see the issue with the statement, could perhaps be worded a little bit differently.
