cfran Posted April 26, 2017 Share Posted April 26, 2017 Could someone provide me some info on how to get transcripts from study abroad through WES? Do I have to contact the school first? And how those grade contribute to GPA if they do at all. Anything helpful advice from someone who has delt with WES before would be greatly appreciated, especially regarding prereq. classes like Bio 1 and Chem 1. Thanks! Allegro Posted April 27, 2017 Share Posted April 27, 2017 I have never heard of anyone having to get a WES because they studied abroad; that is typically only done for foreign applicants who completed their degree outside the U.S. and Canada. cfran Posted April 28, 2017 Author Share Posted April 28, 2017 Yes, it seems like some schools I have looked at require prerequisites to be verified by WES. I think that although the classes are on my official undergrad transcript, the Australian grading system doesn't match up, they use HD, D, C, etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I believe to start you need to contact WES and provide them with your Australian transcripts, and ask for a course-by-course evaluation for U.S. equivalency. They won't always do transcripts from English-speaking schools (I've heard of issues with applicants trying to get Caribbean transcripts done through them) so it might be worth contacting their customer service team.
