8404PA
I want to make sure that I'm not only a well-rounded provider but I want a competitive CV. Other than PALS, ACLS, ATLS, and neonatal are there any others I can do? Someone talked about FCCM but can't find out much about that. Thank you :)
JDayBFL
It depends on your goals. If you want to work in critical care/trauma/ER then FCCS is a good one. Here is the info-- http://www.sccm.org/Fundamentals/FCCS/Pages/default.aspx
Administrator rev ronin Posted March 20, 2017 Administrator Share Posted March 20, 2017 This should be a FAQ. High value: Difficult Airway Course Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) Fundamentals of Critical Care Support(?) (FCCS) Less valuable: Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS). This ends up being great for paramedics to think about things like a PA, but I found much of the content redundant to PA school.PHTLS--just take an ATLS course that will give you a provider card rather than a certificate of attenance. All this assumes you want to practice emergency/trauma medicine, of course.
