kuassmaul
Hi everyone. I get to shadow PA whos specialty is in cardio-thoracic surgery. Lately I've been writing down a lot of general questions about the field and some regarding the specialty. I was wondering if any of you can help me out with more questions please. IdahoPA
I think this is kind of...unusual. My questions about the field won't necessarily be the same as yours. Also, the poor guy still has to work, and while s/he might be more than willing to discuss lots of things with you, being bombarded with questions is never fun. I'd do some research on basic concepts and questions, then ask specifically what you still don't understand or would like a more detailed explanation about. alster
If you have a lot of questions about PA in general, maybe see if you can make a meeting outside of work and shadowing hours. I was able to do that with a PA and we talked for a couple hours about more general aspects of being a PA and applying to school and preparing for school. Those kinds of things won't count for shadowing hours, but they're a great way to get information and won't distract from the work day.
