octobersongs
Hi all, I'm flip flopping between a BSN or going through a PA program? I like BSN because I can go for NP later if I'd like. Is there room to excel as a PA? If I complete a 2 year PA program and find a job making 50-70k annually, what are my options for earning more? I intend to work in psych no matter if it's as a NP or PA.
mackjacks
You shouldn't accept a job making 50k unless you're doing a PA residency. There are options to make more than your base salary if you get productivity pay, get a per-diem part-time job, teach part-time, become the lead PA and have more duties, etc. There is definitely a glass ceiling after a point, which you've clearly though about. There can be more opportunities if you feel like being an entrepreneur and starting your own practice, writing books for-Pre-PAs a la Rodican, whatever else you think of...
