grogtime Posted April 27, 2024 CASPA is open and MEDEX applications will be available on 5/1. Good luck to everyone this year! Let's show each other some support in these trying times. 1 Quote
celscoot Posted April 28, 2024 Hello! Getting started on MEDEX supplemental and I was wondering if anyone knew the character/word count? https://familymedicine.uw.edu/medex/applicants/ This says there is a 1,000 word limit, but I see in last cycles thread that they had 5,000 characters. Anyone have any ideas what the limit is before I feel obligated to ramble? lol Quote
Ddgray Posted May 13, 2024 Anyone submit their application? I submitted on Saturday, wondering how long the verification usually takes. Quote
Sunshine2 Posted May 20, 2024 Is there a separate supplemental from the CASPA application? On the program info it says supplemental but then goes on to talk about the tabs under CASPA. I just don’t want to miss anything! Thank you and good luck everyone! Quote

Ddgray Posted May 22, 2024 MEDEX said they received my application and it takes 2-3 weeks to do the initial review. After that updates will be sent. so i’m sure they received yours if you were already verified. 1 Quote

grogtime Posted May 29, 2024 Author I feel a little insane right now. I swear that the first day MEDEX's supplemental opened on CASPA, there were no sections for the reapplicant or "commitment to the underserved" essays. I thought it was weird that they removed those from last year. I did a ctrl+f and everything. But yesterday when I went to add my other essays, both essays were back! I had to muppet-panic write them both. Did this happen to anyone else? Quote

Krystal82 Posted June 12, 2024 Hi everyone! 2nd time applicant here. I received an email from admissions asking to clarify my clinical hours. Specifically asking how much of my hours were hands on patient care and how much was clerical or administrative work. They didn’t ask me this last year so I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this asked of them? Quote

So some of your hours that were part of PCE might be HCE now. i applied last year with ~7,000 PCE and ~2,000 HCE this year I had to split it up and it’s now ~6,000 PCE ~ 5,000 HCE Quote
