KrebsCycle
Hello all, Can anyone chime in on salary/compensation for IR PA. I am in Texas and about to interview for an IR position. I bring to the table 2.5 years of HemeOnc experience and 12 years (previous) of ultrasound tech experience. While it is not directly IR experience and I will require training, I feel that would be the case any time you change specialties. The company does offer profit sharing, but I have never experienced this so I don't actually know how that plays into it. Please send all the thoughts!
SedRate
Your ultrasound experience will help but I'm not sure how much it will directly influence your pay as a new IR PA. Did you do any procedures in Heme/Onc?
KrebsCycle
I've been trained for bone marrow biopsies, but that the logistics of the office did not allow that to continue regularly. Nonetheless, a general ball-park number would be good to know. I am just hoping that their offer is not lower than what I make now as an outpatient hemeonc APP. SedRate
I'm not very familiar with IR pay but it may be close or a bit higher than what you're making. Have you checked the AAPA salary report? Some places will pay you for your years as a PA while others will pay for your specialty experience.
