Madhatter Posted March 19 Share Posted March 19 Hello, I have a unique situation. I'm a PA in NC. I work in trauma surgery and critical care. I'm a member of a local search and rescue squad. Currently, I'm not covered by the county medical director for medical situations with the squad. We're working to correct that but the path forward now is for me to become an EMR or EMT. Before PA school I went through EMT-B school and passed the NREMT in 2015. I didn't register with my state because I went to PA school right after. NC requires an EMT-B certificate to be completed within two years so I can't go that route. Does anyone know of any states that allow you to test out for the EMT exam? Or any other organizations that I should look at? I took an EMT refresher course last fall. I'm just trying to avoid going through another full EMT or EMR course.
