Hello Everyone! I know it is early but CASPA opens in a few weeks and I wanted to start talking about this cycle. I plan to apply maybe May or June.

Do you think it will be too late to apply in June?

No! I am applying in June. I spoke with the admission advisor, and she stated that she usually starts reviewing applications in early to mid July.

I swear this program use to not require a supervisor LOR, but now it does. Can anyone confirm if this is a new change? They emailed last week their updated requirements for this current cycle, which included the supervisor LOR but I could have sworn the LOR requirement used to be that 1/3 had to be from a HCP??

Not sure If I miswrote it, but that's what I had on my Excel sheet. If it's true, I'm pretty upset they're doing this a month after the cycle opened... 😞

I can't seem to find anything regarding a secondary application for this school. Does this program require one?

It is already in CASPA, so select the program in CASPA and it will just be questions

I am not sure TBH. I heard the new requirement in the upcoming cycles will be a letter from a PA at least 1/3. You can email the admission advisor, she will know.

I spoke to one of the advisors and stated one LOR has to be from a PA. I hope this helps.

I went to the information session last week and this is not true. 1/3 must be from a licensed healthcare provider (PA, MD, DO, NP), although I'm sure a PA LOR would be most competitive. The newest LOR update is that one must be from a supervisor or manager, healthcare preferred.

Hi,

I sent an email to PA adcom, asking if my 2 MD LOR will suffice. This was the response. POST.thumb.PNG.009e4b4fc8b9eef58eb01c453aeda5de.PNG

Thats unusual, even on the website it still says:

  • One letter must be from a licensed healthcare provider (i.e., PA, MD, DO, or NP

I don’t understand how they expect applicants to know this information if it’s not on the requirements page, or was informed to applicants during the information session last week. I have a PA LOR but I can’t help but think this is so unorganized of them to change so last minute.

Edit: I assume you're a prospective applicant for this current cycle, so curious why the adcoms person said 'next upcoming cycle' not 'this current cycle'

Their page still does not say LOR from a PA... i'm so lost.

Yeah... I hope this doesn't affect your application, it's unfortunate that they keep changing things. Looking at the email, they do say 'NEXT upcoming cycle' not 'this current cycle' but if you don't have a PA LOR I'd recommend reaching out to them in case. But, considering that it's not updated on their website and was not included in the info session/email sent out 2 weeks ago with new requirement updates, I do not think they can hold it against you.

I submitted on the 12th and haven’t heard anything from them yet.

I called them the other day and they said we won’t get confirmation emails until they begin processing our applications. Hopefully they will start soon!
