SedRate Posted February 13, 2023 Share Posted February 13, 2023 I too had difficulty finding shadowing opportunities when I first started my PA journey. Cold-calling practices got me no where. I was desperate so I ended up asking my own PCP PA as she was the one who inspired me to become a PA, and thankfully she agreed. I then joined a couple health clubs in college and was able to shadow an orthopedic surgeon who gave a talk at one of our meetings. I encourage you to keep networking and ask anyone and everyone. Perhaps ask your friends to ask their PA if you could shadow. Contact local hospitals and ask to speak to their med staff department to see if there any shadowing opportunities. Good luck!
