kikkapa
Hi all, i am thinking a lot and I decided to ask for advices and experiences. currently i have a derm elective rotation and i was thinking if i could change for a plastics, skin reconstruction and burn unit. I thought i could lean more procedures and having a better background to start my future career. in the same time i am not sure if dermatology rotation would be excluded for that. Also are the procedures done in the elective worthy and considered in a future dermatology jobs. and how much a burn unit PA job is hard schedule and difficult or easy to find. how much application skills could i have? thanks for nay idea, suggestions, opinion. SedRate
Do you know any classmates who have taken those electives and can share their experience? Have you tried asking your clinical coordinator for advice?

CAAdmission
It's tough to say and would depend on the preceptors you rotate with. Even among preceptors working in the same office, some preceptors might let students do a ton of procedures and other might not. It depends on their comfort level and how competent you appear.
