blburns
These folks just did an informal talk at South College in Knoxville TN while stopped in Knoxville on their way across the US. If you haven't heard of them, check them out. This is the first year of an annual ride across America. They had a lot to say about healing their own wounds through bicycling across the US, issues relating to civilians and vice versa, as well as PTSD and reintegration and the problems with transitioning to civilian life. They also want to reach out to active duty military to form a network of Veterans helping Veterans. http://longroadhomeproject.com/
ToppDog
Very worthy cause. I took my MA class to their event at UW as a field trip. One of my students got this shot of one of the biker vets thanking us medical folks for our service.
Corpsman2PA
One of our classmates at UW actually participated in the ride. Great stuff.
ToppDog
I heard that. Pretty awesome that they let him do it while classes were going on. I think it was during the online part, but still, I would have been nervous about starting school with that much on my plate. Kudos to him :)
