What is a good productivity %?

Recommended Posts

Essentially first job out of PA school.

FP/UC $35/hr base wage + x% per patient seen. No benefits.

I've never had a job where part of my pay was based on productivity and I am not sure how many patients I will see once I get up to speed. The clinic is PPO or cash only, 2 MA's, I will be sole provider but promised good support from SP who will typically be onsite or within a few miles. I was offered to be W2 or 1099, whichever I preferred.

So how much should that "x" be? What else should I be taking into account, business-wise? Should I go W2 or 1099 (I have no problem doing my own taxes)?
