Jobs upon graduation.

Recommended Posts

Once you graduate and begin job search, in addition to PA,  look for positions listed under NP or APP. Quite often jobs open to NP & PA are only listed under searches for NP and likely overlooked .DON”T be that individual who limits searches that only pop up for PA. Even if it says NP, apply anyway, and write a nice cover explaining how you are just as qualified in …area. Also, have some self respect and don’t take crap offers. Nearly every location negotiates. Get help if needed to promote your self and professional capabilities.

Lastly, support your state PA association and work toward gaining independence, after few years experience. The fact is, no matter your abilities, if employer can hire NP in an independent state, they will over PA majority of the time. Only because they have to do more paperwork and pay physicians to supervise you. Every form of health care professional collaborates with others, you don’t need to be supervised after 3-5 years to collaborate.
