Working with and obtaining patients through a MSO- thoughts?

Hello,

I had an interview for a job that entailed doing virtual annual wellness assessments for patients that already had PCPs. My sole responsibility would be to complete annual wellness assessments and report any changes in health or medications to their PCP. The job did not require any medical management whatsoever. I asked one of the interviewers how they obtained their patients and she explained that they are contracted with a MSO that provides a list of patients that need annual wellness exams. I have never heard of anything like this.

As a PA who is considering opening my own practice in the future, I’m wandering if anyone is familiar with obtaining patients through a MSO or shed any knowledge they may have on this topic?
