sprentic
Hey guys, I'm trying to recover from a brutal low undergraduate GPA (2.9) and have pretty much completed all my pre-reqs for PA school. I'm aware that I'll need to push my GPA well over 3.0 to become a competitive applicant so I was wondering if anybody from the southern California area knew of any good post bac programs or open campus programs to take some difficult sciences courses? I've just about exhausted many of the community college science courses (and have done well), but I'm not so sure this is going to prove to various schools that I am able to excel in difficult courses. Thanks for your advice =]

Timon
I went to Southern California University of Health Science located off Beach Blvd & Lambert in Whittier for most of my post Bach. They have a program called the Integrated Science Program through the school and is WASC accredited. http://www.integratedscienceprogram.com/ They offer: A&P 1 & 2 Bio 1 & 2 Gen Chem 1 & 2 O-Chem 1 & 2 Biochem Microbiology Physics 1 & 2 Classes are 4 weekends long and are from 8am-6:30pm on Sat & Sun. Practically all the teachers are either MDs or PhDs. It's really fast paced / semesters worth of material in 4 weeks essentially. Cost a grip $1950 a class and you can do a capstone for each class to earn 1 additional unit for $595. Classes start every month. For classes not listed I suggest other schools like United States University or UOP for classes like psych, immunology, sociology, English, math, stats, etc. There's also University of New England which is an online course with vertual labs thats accepted at a lot of schools. http://www.usuniversity.edu/ (WASC Accredited) http://www.une.edu/ (Regionally Accredited)
