jc90
As the title states, I'm looking for a good emergency ultrasound course that someone could recommend. I'm a newer PA (I've been working ED for about 6 months) and have been using online modules and grabbing attendings when I can to practice my skills in the ED but I have CME money to spend and if I don't use it by December it is essentially wasted. I'm leaning towards the SEMPA course in Huntington in November but open to any recommendations anyone wants to throw out. I'm based in NY but willing to travel anywhere - as I said, I have the CME money to spend.
QCEMPA
I went to the SEMPA course in Florida, I would highly recommend doing a SEMPA course if you have the opportunity. Well worth the money.
ohiovolffemtp
Ohio ACEP does a very good 2 day course. Strongly recommend it.
SEMPA
We have thoughts but we're obviously a little biased. FL will be a little closer to you and a nice escape to a warmer climate during the winter. CA gives you the "scan and surf" experience. Can't go wrong with either one! https://www.sempa.org/education/us-landing-page/ And, if you want to attend a critical procedures course with hands-on training... https://www.sempa.org/education/procedures/ - SEMPA

dfw6er
I did the SEMPA course a few years back in Phoenix. It was the best course I ever attended. Was better even than the POCUS courses taught by the large ER group I used to work for. I'd recommend the SEMPA course, then go practice what you learned for 6 months or so in your shop then take another POCUS course...or better yet....a POCUS regional anesthesia course. Before you know it, you'll be very proficient.
surgblumm
SEMPA and ACEP are the best organizations for this. EMERGENCY MEDICINE BOOT CAMP may have a course on this or if you write them and suggest it, they have the resources and can add another day or two. I have looked at all the PA related forums on Facbook and one great course is usually offered. Nothing is free and this knowledge is invaluable for a PA ER provider in today's world.
