mgriffiths Posted July 25, 2019 Share Posted July 25, 2019 Does anybody know of any good resources (CME/Conferences/etc.) for becoming more savvy with coding? I feel that I'm pretty good, but not awesome. I learned today that you can bill for advance care planning - CPT code 99497 and it equals 1.5 RVUs. The of course you can bill a non-preventative visit (i.e. 99214) with a medicare wellness (G0439), and advance care planning can be part of the AWV. All three of those codes together equal 4.5 RVUs, and that's for a single visit!! Yes, it is a bit more work during that one visit, but that is a ton of RVUs for a single visit and furthermore my MA can do quite a bit of it.
