The Gift That Keeps on Giving

Robert M. Blumm, MA, PA, DFAAPA, PA-C Emeritus

This is not a new year; but September does represent a new start in the lives of the many graduates from both PA and NP programs. These newly minted medical professionals are going out into the world to make a difference, to share their skills, to heal the sick, to enter critical care areas, emergency rooms, medical treatment offices, branches of the armed forces of the United States and specialty groups, to continue on the road to knowledge as they learn from seasoned professionals and they develop their own excellence. That excellence will come at the cost of ongoing study, long nights, constant lectures and the overabundance of hours that they will spend in developing the diagnoses of their patients based on history, laboratory findings, sophisticated radiological tests and developing treatment plans.

One of the early cries from their souls will be, “Help me!” “Like the body that is made up of different limbs and organs, all mortal creatures exist depending on one another.” Hindu proverb.  How can we help these new healers as they start on the journey to excellence? The gift that keeps on giving is not the Fruit of the Month Club, or the Wine of the Month Club; neither is it the Jam or Jelly of the Month Club. The new practitioners need something that not only sustains them today, but demonstrates a manner of sustaining and protecting them in the future. A gift that keeps on giving is a gift with continuing benefits. CM&F has developed the perfect gift that accomplishes both and it is both affordable to the new graduate and to their parents, grandparents and other family members who wish to start them on the correct road to security and peace. CM&F has developed the first-time gift that provides fast, easy and money-saving coverage for all new graduate PAs and NPs for full time employment, part time employment as well as moonlighting. This provides a new graduate with the security of insurance coverage as they seek out a first specialty, entertain a part time secondary specialty or, as do so many, an opportunity to moonlight. The cost is an amazing $300.00 which makes a beautiful gift for this new clinician and will set in motion the essential habit to continue to have a personal liability insurance policy over the next five years. What a great gift from a sibling, a grandparent or a parent. CM&F has been in business for 71 years, since 1947, and insures more PAs than any other insurance company in the nation. CM&F demonstrates quality, trust and value and is endorsed by the AAPA. As a PA leader and former president of a State PA association and four national associations, I highly endorse CM&F.
