Supplemental Questions Re Time Off

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I had to withdraw from a semester due to personal reasons including an abusive relationship and the loss of a close friend. I am not sure how to address this in the application. Is this too personal? Will it look unprofessional or that I am not strong enough to handle PA school? After this semester, I received C, C+, and D in 3 science (not pre-requisite) classes. Since then I have gotten back on track and did well in my remaining semesters. After graduating, I also took a few science courses with grades of A. I have 2 1/2 years as a Medical Assistant, as well as a  overall 3.4 GPA (3.1 Science GPA) and PA shadowing experience. I am afraid my semester of withdrawal and those 3 classes may deter schools from interviewing me.
