New grad hospitalist position

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

After months of looking, I have an offer for a Hospitalist position. I don't know all the details get but I'll be taking over for a PA who is leaving. Their offer: 87,500 for first year (in northern Virginia). Not sure how much it will increase yr two until I get the contract and 3 weeks vacation. malpractice is paid for. Is that a decent starting salary? It will be M-F.

What is your experience and background?

How many hours per week, call, weekends, etc.?

My point is we need more information, but with that said $87,500 isn't a stellar salary, but is pretty decent for a new grad if the benefits are decent.  I will be a new grad and I have a family medicine offer that with productivity bonus will get me somewhere around $90k.  Holding out for an ortho position, but still nice to have that offer.
