floopy
Does working as a live-in caregiver for the elderly and disabled count as experience for most PA schools? There are ads in my area for jobs that prefer but don't require a CNA certification, and I was thinking that this would be a good way for me to pick up experience. Thanks for your help. HopefulPA
I think it probably varies from program to program so best to check with the programs you are interested in. I got my HCE as a Home care giver.
floopy
Thanks HopefulPA. Were you CNA certified? And did that matter in terms of having the experience qualify? Thx again.
HopefulPA
No I was not CNA certified. But I can not stress enough about checking with the programs you are applying too. What a shame it would be to take a job you think you are gaining HCE and the program says nope!
