winterallsummer
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this post. I am graduating in about three months and ideally want a job as a hospitalist in TX. My prior HCE includes three years FT CNA inpt and some clinical research. I have several questions about a first time hospitalist job for a new grad: 1. How do you make sure the position allows you to see and treat patients and not just manage admits, h&p, or d/c summaries? 2. What is considered fair pay in TX? What is fair for a 7 on 7 off schedule? How should I approach RVU based bonuses? 3. What are things to look for in a first job? How does working somewhere with vs without residents / academic center compare? 4. What are some red flags to look out for? Thanks for anyone who answers and can offer any additional advice.
