davidccs
I've been reading some threads in the residency forum and see that its a choice and not mandatory to be a PA-C, so my question is simple, how does it help you? Why do some choose to go and others choose not to? TY!

MCHAD
I can think of a couple reasons real quick...more training, looks good on a resume (= more competitive job applicant).
mcarbo
Ty, if you know what area of medicine you want to work in (i.e. ED, Orth Surgery, GI....) there are residency programs (usually after graduation) to give a more in depth study of that area. It usually provides a certificate of training and looks great on your resume when you are trying to land a specific job in a competitive market.
