Bubo101 Posted December 1, 2013 Share Posted December 1, 2013 The position I hold at work can be filled by medical professionals from a variety of backgrounds. I happen to be an EMT-B and am currently responsible for training a very experienced RN for this job. Today I presented my trainee with some mock medical emergencies related to the job. After running through a few of these and testing her knowledge she looks at me and says: "I can't believe you are just an EMT! Well...I guess you are going to be a PA..." I am posting this only because that felt really good to hear and I wanted to share! When I become a PA I know the real reward will be making a difference in the lives of patients but I hope that we will all be able to experience moments like these of mutual respect from other members of the healthcare team, especially with our SPs.
