I think listing other dx if relevant is appropriate.

for example on an admitted pt I might list the following:

1. Acute Pyelonephritis

2. Type 2 DM, poor control

Not sure how the ER works, but for one of our ASO's coding DM doesn't reimburse anything like Dm W/ renal Manefestation + Nephropathy NOS... or 304.9 opioid dep..
