cloak25
Hello I have a question regarding inputting the personal statement into CASPA. When I reviewed my personal statement in word, I had around 5000 characters but when I pasted it into CASPA, it showed 5013. Is it okay to remove the spacings between paragraphs when pasting it into CASPA? If I do this, I will be at 5000 characters but are we suppose to keep the same format as it was in word (i.e. distinct paragraphs)? or can I just leave it as one big paragraph? Andreasmo
I wouldn't. Find a couple unnecessary the's, that's or other commonly used words you don't need. Do you abbreviate PA after first using it? You can shorten it by 13 characters somewhere besides giving the admission committees a headache.
cloak25
Yes I do abbreviate PA after first using it. So do you suggest I leave a single or double space between paragraphs? Should I indent each new paragraph?
Andreasmo
According to CASPA, you should double space between paragraphs https://portal.caspaonline.org/caspaHelpPages/frequently-asked-questions/additional-information/narrative-personal-statement-information/index.html have you had anyone else read it? You really don't have much to shorten so don't stress about it too much. Even just eliminating one sentence will get you there.
