Hey y’all - I know it’s hard to not read into things; trying to measure time-frames based on previous forums seems to help with the stress that comes with the waiting game. I did the same exact thing. We all did. I would just caution everyone to ensure the info you want to share with the forum is factual, and if it didn’t come directly from the staff or their website, take it with a grain of salt or just don’t put it out there. I know there is a lot of stuff on last years forum (100+ pages ), and a lot of it is speculation based on the previous cohort. The faculty do not reveal their process of accepting students, either directly from interviews or off the waitlist. Even more so, they changed the interview process entirely, so it’s even more of a guessing game. This is a very exciting time and this forum is an awesome place to connect with the future fifth cohort of YPAO! Whoever is attending the next post interview sesh, I’m looking forward to meeting you

Good morning, I was hoping to get some guidance on the IPAP personal statement. Does each branch have different things they are looking for within a personal statement (I'm not sure if each branch has their own selection board or not)? Should there be a personal story in there to avoid sounding cookie cutter? With such a small word count, it is challenging to figure out what to write that will make an impact...to be honest, I am not even sure where to start. FYI, I am asking this on behalf of someone else (active Navy IDC). In my experience with civilian PA programs, the personal statement is a big deal, does it not carry the same weight in IPAP? Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you.

As long as you meet the min requirements, they definitely look at the applicant holistically

Hey I am about halfway through my first semester of PA school, and like a lot of others, are very interested in applying for a residency. However, knowing that grades are an important factor for interviews/acceptance, does anyone have any experience on how a Pass/Fail/Honors PA school grading system will translate? Even though it is overall pass/fail, we still get % scores on our quizzes (haven't taken an exam yet)...so maybe it's possible for me to still get a GPA at the end of graduation?

If I am understanding you right, the tier system is based on how long you served on active duty. You are eligible for 100% of the GI Bill benefits if you served at least 36 months active duty or received a Purple Heart.
