chickitabanana
Sorry if this topic already has a thread, but every time I've tried to search for stuff in the past it rarely narrows down my results. (If someone can tell me if there's a better way to do this it'd be helpful!) Anyway, as a new grad what are some things we should be looking for as far as salary, benefits, CME, vacation, etc? I know it will vary depending on private practice/hospital and specialty, but in general what hourly rate, etc. is "acceptable"? I'm from the northeast so I know that jobs in NYC/Philly tend to pay lower due to the large number of PA programs, but the hourly rate might end up being better than other jobs (despite the high cost of living in NYC, Boston, etc.). Also, what about jobs that offer OT? I was surprised to find that some will be willing to pay you for OT given the fact that it's a salaried job. Thanks! :-)
