jdtpac Posted February 5, 2013 nice blog Steve, great work! we just got our scheduled II prescriptive authority this past December and are awaiting for the medical board to promulgate rules for the formulary. This ruling and the bad press by the FDA could not come at worst time. Our formulary as 3 categories PA may not prescribe, PA may prescribe, or physician initiated. for physician initiated the rule means that the physician must either write the first prescription and the PA can do refills or the PA can do the initial prescription after consultation with the supervising physician and documentation in the patient's chart. We are hoping that our medical board will not place our schedule II's in that physician initiated category because of this recent FDA issue.
