Psychiatry Residency in Beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico

Recommended Posts

HI, everyone, my name is Jason and I direct the PA Psychiatry Residency at the New Mexico VA Health Care system in Albuquerque.   We are currently accepting applications for September matriculation.

We are a one year paid residency with a salary of about $75,000 per year plus vacation, sick leave, insurance and other benefits.   Graduates can easily be directly appointed to positions at any VA.

Our residency is tailored to set you up for the CAQ and offers both inpatient and outpatient rotations.  This VA covers a wide geographic area and offers lots of specialty care including residential substance abuse, outpatient substance abuse, PTSD, neuromodulation and many others.

We offer weekly didactics which include all of the psychiatric disorders, psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, crisis counseling, interviewing, metal status examination and documentation.   We also have lecture with the University of New Mexico Psychiatry interns.  We have two residents and are highly integrated with our four person NP psychiatry residency so we have a great, supportive, integrated group of learners.

Albuquerque is a beautiful city with over 300 days of sun per year and too many outdoor activities to name.  Its culture is rich and varied with contributions from Native American and Mexican cultures.

If you are interested in training with us or have any questions just let me know!
