ariezee11
Hello! I have a general question for current PA-C's. Well one reason that I would like to become a physician assistant is because of the ability to switch specialties. With an increase in patient load due to arise from health care reform, one of my goals is to lend a hand in the effort of providing quality care in family medicine. However,I also have an interest in the ob/gyn specialty. My plan is to initally work in family medicine for a few years. If a position for a PA in ob/gyn were to arise, I would definitely apply for it in hopes of getting selected. In regards to the ob/gyn speciality, what would prompt an obstetrician/gynecologist to select a PA rather than a WHNP when a WHNP has specialized training in that field? What does the job market look like for a PA-C interested in ob/gyn? If anyone can give some insight on this situation, I truly appreciate it.
