Productivity bonus in reconstructive surgery

Recommended Posts

I am a PA who has been working with the same reconstructive/hand surgeon for over 7 years. We do a lot of reconstructive breast surgery, hand surgery, skin cancer surgery, a smattering of cosmetics (but no injectables or laser). Since 2010, I have been receiving a base salary plus productivity bonus that is based on my cash collections for the year. Currently, my salary is at 95K and my bonus was 19K for the year 2015. I was able to look at my total cash collections for the first time in 2015, however, and saw that I brought in 650K for the practice. My bonus currently equals 7% of what I bring in over 375K annually. Am I crazy to think I should be getting more than 7% if I'm bringing in over a half million?
