Is there a way to find out what is reimbursed for a first assist on different surgical procedures? Are there differences in having a PA vs a nurse for first assist? mandrew1 Posted October 14, 2015 Share Posted October 14, 2015 When I worked in CT surgery, there was a way to find out first assistant fees via billing department; however, my wife worked in billing! What my wife showed me and what the surgeon told me were two separate numbers. obviously in his favor. Billing may not give you the info, but that's the only way to find out.
