nkool Posted August 21, 2014 Hello all, I have a question to current or past students about which inexpensive and reasonable brand of diagnostic set did u use in school other than welch Allyn? Welch Allen is soon expensive and amazon shows up a lot of brand like ADC, RA Bock etc. can someone suggest what reasonable prices brand they had used during school? Thanks in advance.
Guest MedLib42 Posted August 21, 2014 I bought an RA Bock otoscope/ophthalmoscope set for around $100 - no issues or complaints with it (I had no trouble seeing what I needed to). But I didn't use it often anyway - our SIM lab rooms had nice Welch Allyn sets to practice with and supposedly they are typically available at clinical sites, so we were advised to buy whatever was cheapest. I only wound up using mine for home practice, or for times when all of the ones in the SIM lab were in use anyway.
PACdan Posted August 22, 2014 Recently got the ADC set. Works well. It's not as fancy as a Welch-Allyn, but I was able to buy all my books with the remaining difference. :) And as stated, sim lab, clinics, etc. all have the W-As on the wall.
