Bonus compensation for hospital based PA

Recommended Posts

I am neurosurgery PA employed by medical school. We work at 2 local hospitals. I am 100% hospital based, no clinic. I assist in surgery, take call, round on patients, perform all initial consultations.

The surgeons bill for my first assist, and I bill for consults & daily rounding if applicable.

When I was hired, part of my comp plan included a bonus program. The problem is, this plan is an RVU system written for clinic midlevels. As you can expect, I have earned zero bonus in 2 years.

There has been a promise to address this, but so far nothing has been done.

Does anyone have experience with this? What would be a reasonable way to calculate my productivity?

Thanks for any suggestions!
