I am currently a third semester nursing student (RN). I will complete my studies in Dec. I've passed all my nursing courses with C's thus far. Will this hurt my chances of getting in to the PA program?

I am currently employed at San Francisco County Hospital as a Surgical Technologist for the last 2 years. I assist the surgeon take care of the patient intraoperative. I passed all my surgical training courses with all A's.

Volunteer experience: I have volunteered at San Francisco County Hospital for 6 month in the ER. I have also organized and led food drives for needy families during the holidays.

Currently I am looking to find a preceptor/mentor that will allow me to shadow him/her. I live in the Bay Area and I'm willing to commute.

Other: I speak Spanish

Most students in our class didn't take a math course as high as Calculus, so I wouldn't sweat the C too much.  Outside of getting a better grasp of pharmacokinetics, there was little application of calculus in our studies.

From what you have listed, your experience as a surgical tech will be heavily weighed.  They do need to see you can handle a high course load with a sufficient grasp of the material:  average 3.5+ GPA.
